Work Experience
We have a structured Work Experience programme that involves time spent in our Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds offices, within each department of the firm, with the management
team, and current trainee solicitors already working with us. We believe that this
programme affords those candidates involved a good insight into a regional legal practice, and is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Ashton Graham before
deciding whether or not to apply for a Training Contract with us .
The Work Experience programme is aimed at undergraduates and two separate weeks
are offered each year, one during early summer, and one in late summer.
For 2008
the weeks available are 16 to 20 June 2008 and 1 to 5 September
2008.
Feedback from students who joined the scheme in 2006 and 2007 include:
"I found the week to be insightful and very enjoyable"
"I think the level of effort put into the week from everyone at Ashton Graham was
excellent and I feel I have come away with a very valuable experience"
"Showed me how law works in practice, invaluable experience, very different to sitting
in a lecture room listening about it".
If you wish to be considered as a candidate for either Work Experience programme
in 2008 please forward your CV to
James Griffiths
at our Bury St Edmunds office by 25th April 2008, specifying which
week(s) you wish to be considered for. The applications will then be reviewed and
all applicants advised of the outcome of the selection process by 12th May 2008.
If you are not available to apply for this year's programme, or if your first application is not successful, please do keep an eye on our website for details of further Work
Experience placements.
