Law Firm on the Move
It was recently announced that leading regional law firm Ashton Graham Solicitors are to re-locate their Ipswich office from Electric House, Lloyds Avenue to Waterfront House, Wherry Quay, in the heart of the town's prestigious Waterfront area.
Such an exciting move has attracted a significant amount of attention as work begins to transform Waterfront House into Ashton Graham's new offices. The historic building was originally converted to seven floors of office accommodation by Contship in the mid-1980s. The work currently underway will create a new reception area and a number of client meeting rooms, where clients will be able to confidentially discuss their matters with spectacular views across the Waterfront and down the River Orwell. Soundproof glass partition walls with integrated blinds are being used to divide up some of the open plan space, whilst the majority will be left as large open plan offices. The building also offers a fantastic conservatory style boardroom on the 5th floor and a training/seminar room on the 6th floor, which will enable the firm to offer a variety of seminars and events in-house.
'The new offices will be truly inspiring to work in and visit' comments Keven Mulley, Practice Manager who is managing the project. Keven is delighted with the progress to date saying 'Everything is on schedule with a huge amount of help from many contractors, in particular Russell Woby from Hoopers and also Elliston Steady & Hawes (Building) Ltd.'
Waterfront House is in the middle of an astonishing renaissance, with new restaurants, bars, marinas, homes and conference centres. Ashton Graham is the first professional firm to announce their move to the area. James Hehir, Chief Executive, Ipswich Borough Council is supportive of the firms move and commented: 'I am delighted that such an established law firm as Ashton Graham have decided to relocate to the Waterfront. With the scale and quality of regeneration underway together with the University, it is important that we have a full mixture of occupiers.
The work is due to be completed over the next month with the firm moving in mid-September. The move will give further impetus to Ashton Graham's already rapid and successful development.Ê
