The Move to Waterfront House

The most significant development for the firm over the past year has been the move of the Ipswich office to Waterfront House. The firm made the decision to improve the quality of the Ipswich premises for both staff and clients alike and spent some time not only looking at other possible premises, but also considering a complete renovation and make over of Electric House.

'What Waterfront House offers us is the ability to practise from a modern office in a stunning location.'

Mark Merriam, Managing Partner, recognises that great things have accompanied the move. He comments 'We have been able to relocate our staff to an open-plan environment which will encourage integration and team-working. We have better communal facilities and better meeting rooms. From the clients' perspective we can offer the opportunity to park outside our offices and be advised in well-furnished, air-conditioned rooms with fantastic views.'

Waterfront House is an historic building, built around 1900, and originally a barley warehouse that was converted to seven floors of office accommodation in the mid 1980s. The building is in the middle of a key regeneration project in the Eastern region with new restaurants, bars, marinas, homes and conference centres. Ashton Graham is the first professional firm to move to the area.

It is a statement building which will raise the profile of the firm not only in Ipswich but in the region as a whole. That process is already under way with the move in itself having generated a considerable amount of publicity.

The new offices are not only conducive to the provision of legal services but also present an excellent platform from which to entertain clients and connectors. The firm has already hosted a series of three receptions for clients and professionals in the building and there will be many opportunities in the future for such marketing events.

In what is an incredibly competitive local and regional market, Ashton Graham have certainly set out their stall to endorse what is an already well recognised and respected brand. The move to Waterfront House can only continue to endorse that brand and assist with its continued growth.
